5 Years......But who's counting?

On Saturday the 31st it will be 5 years since my car accident. I celebrate it as the "Day I Lived". And today while doing much of nothing around my house I've been thinking about my Grandma (who's Birthday is today) and all the other amazing family members who took such great care of me and my boys while I was in the hospital or at home recovering! I am so blessed...not only for all of these wonderful people, but for the fact that when the doctor gravely told me the "real" truth....that I would never walk again at least not without dragging my leg, never be able to have more children, and truly struggle to lead a normal life....he was wrong!
Believe me when I say there is a corner of my heart that will always be for Dr. Hillyard who spent hours after hour (we figured about 32) in surgery to piece my leg back together. And who was never afraid to tell me the truth, or dare me to prove him wrong.
And just because it is my blog and I can....here's a little KOO-DOOLES to myself.....over Christmas break for the first time (and it wasn't pretty with a lot more pain then I'd like) I ran on that darn leg!

These are the x-rays from the day when they were pre-paring to put the rods through the bone. This is my lower leg, and the arrows point to the breaks.

This is the femur where you can see how lucky I was to have the bones break above & below my knee.

I will always honestly be able to say "I have experienced miracles!" And I am grateful!

Where, oh Where, does my time go?

Here we are almost into February....and I'm just getting back to blogging! And what have I been up too you ask? Honestly? Nothing!!!! Well, okay a few things like:

Changing Levi's room from all tan with a little blue and black, to red, tan and black!

One goal this year was to make my house more like us....or maybe just a little more like me! But anything less cookie-cutter-ish, as far as one color fits all would be great! So, I have a few more things to change in Levi's room like his curtains and such, but you get the jiff of it!

Spending my entire Saturday waiting around to go and watch Basketball Games for Brock & Brennan.

This is Brennan in his first game with Uncle Jerett as his coach and Best Friends and Cousin Peyton & Rushton on his team as well! He had some beginners luck and scored 16 of the 18 points....Dad claims it's all skill and good coaching, but I know better!;)

Finding out that all the "Nuts" in my house are really allergic to Nuts!

Who would believe it unless you saw Brennans poor lips! The only one without any allergies of the boys and we find out that the one thing Brennan hates to eat, he's allergic too...Peanut Butter! Bless his heart, it was his first real try of peanut butter too! We told him his big lips made him more kissable, but he wasn't very happy about!

Taking fake Christmas picture of all the Shaw Grandkids in the end of January.

Because we were unable to all be togeter this year for Christmas we missed taking our regular Christmas picture of the Grandkids in their matching PJ's. So, we faked it, and took them after celebrating our youngest cousin Henry's birthday! It was a super fun day and the cousins always love getting together. Henry was so cute, but somehow all the pictures I took of him were blury! We Luv you Henry!

Any how, that's about it! I'll try to get back to posting and can't wait to catch up on what you've all been up too!
