Believe me when I say there is a corner of my heart that will always be for Dr. Hillyard who spent hours after hour (we figured about 32) in surgery to piece my leg back together. And who was never afraid to tell me the truth, or dare me to prove him wrong.
And just because it is my blog and I can....here's a little KOO-DOOLES to myself.....over Christmas break for the first time (and it wasn't pretty with a lot more pain then I'd like) I ran on that darn leg!
These are the x-rays from the day when they were pre-paring to put the rods through the bone. This is my lower leg, and the arrows point to the breaks.
This is the femur where you can see how lucky I was to have the bones break above & below my knee.
I will always honestly be able to say "I have experienced miracles!" And I am grateful!

I'm right there with you about about counting the years. I agree with the comment before. Yes I guess the world needed us both right? You are totally AWESOME and I love you with all my heart. I am truly glad you are alive. Thanks for all that you do for me :)
Oh dear. I do remember that dreadful day. What a terrible day it was. I am so greatful that it's in the past now and that we get to have you here in our lives. Truly a miracle!
One word for ya: Wow. Remind me the story? Weren't you saving a little girl and got hit by another car and pinned under a car? You are a literal walking miracle.
thanks for proving the dr's wrong. thanks for inspiring me to never give up. you are completely amazing and i think the world of you.
Hey! Those x-rays totally make my stomach turn. I am sure glad to have you in my life and every year on the 31st of Jan I also celebrate the day you lived!
You know that you needed to be here for the rest of us! Knowing you, it didn't matter what the doctors told you, you where going to do what you wanted! Amazing woman! And we all love you and are very appreciative of who you are and all that you do for us!
I really can't believe it's been that long ago. I didn't know you that well then, I only knew Coach Shaw, but it was very real to my family, as he has touched each one of my brothers' (because of his insane obsession of football). And every milestone you overcame (while building a house) was incredible. You truly are an inspiration. Thanks for everything! Especially for loving Josie in the nursery, she literally lights up when she sees you!
