November was full all kinds of events! A month of many High's and Low's that's for sure....
First we surprised Brennan with a really be-lated Birthday Party! His birthday was in August, and with his baptizm, school starting and three of the four boys in our house involved in football I told him I'd do it a little later...before I knew it, later had turned into October!

These are just a few of the wild boys that helped us surprise Brennan! This is how it all went down! Brennan's good friend Peyton took Brennan off to ride bikes while we waited for all of his friends to arrive. Once everyone had arrived at our house they hid until Brennan came in and yelled surprise! He was so shocked!
Friends included: Peyton, Jaylin, Marley, Hannaman, Owen, Rushton, Lessa, Jake & big brother + nicholas
This is Brennan with Owen Hart - these two were known as the "Twix Brothers"! They would recieve twix candy bars from their coach for great defensive plays during their games! I think Brennan got as many as 4 candy bars after one game!

Also in November, Todd officially turned the big 40! He was a great sport in letting us post signs at home and at school both.

Later in the day on Todd's birthday we recieved the horrible news that a close family friend of ours had passed away unexpectedly.
We attended Rick Ence's services that following weekend. We will ever be changed by his short time on this earth.
After returning home from Rick Ence's services we learned that another dear friend of ours had just passed away.
The following tuesday I had the chance to go make rolls for Sister Olsen's funeral with my dear friend Kasi...

This picture is lame...don't hate me Kasi!

Here is Kasi working her magic! She has definately mastered the making of rolls! I took lots of notes and had my chance to see what kind of student I was when I made rolls for our Nelson Family Thanksgiving dinner! Yes they were amazing!

Here are the beautiful little heavenly rolls! I'm sure Sister Olsen's family enjoyed them at the funeral luncheon. They were so gracious when we where at the church helping set up.
What an amazing women Lerine was...she will be missed!
Football came to an end in November for all three of my boys...Dad had a close game at Pineview against the Highland Rams! 48 to 44 was the final score and none of us in the stands had any fingernails left!

Brock's 4th Grade Maroon PV team lost in a three way tie play off to see who went on to the finals. They lost to PV White which wasn't bad if you had to lose!

Brennan did amazing both offensively & defensively against Cedar in the play off's, but still ended up with a lose!

Todd's 8th grade Maroon & White teams did amazing and when told they would have to play each other to determine who would take first they refused and shared the award! Also, this team was being coached by Rick Ence and it was touching to see the young men from these two teams at his funeral wearing their PV jerseys. As they lined the walk for the family to carry the casket out they waited until everyone had cleared and then circled around team mate Blake Ence to offer their comfort and respect for the lose of his father. There was not a dry eye as the boys circled one last time next to Rick and chanted a final "Circle Black".
We were half way through the month when our Nana called with heartbreaking news that our sweet little nephew Anthon of 5 weeks had passed away. It was devastating! We had not yet had the chance to meet him in person and had been planing a trip north in December just days before the news came. On the Monday before Thanksgiving we made a trip north to be with Ali, Mckay and family for Anthons services. Anthon was so beautiful with such sweet features and it was so hard to see him and know we'd never get to truly know him. It was a day that reminded us of how blessed we are, and how grateful we should be for each day we have!
The Nelson Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas party came and went with the blink of an eye! We had all kinds of fun visiting, eating, playing games and getting the chance to meet our newest little neice "Pepper". Finally the girls are making a comback! We are now up to 2 in the Nelson side, and if there's any hope it remains with Jason & Kellyanne or Dustin & Jessica seeing how the rest of us are done having babies! (Cross your fingers...Dustin & Jessica will soon find out what they're having!)
All in all November was a busy, happy, sad, and blessed month! I've walked away feeling more grateful for family, friends, the gospel and the comfort that I know I will see those I love again someday.
