Helicopters and Life....

A few weekends ago, our family had a chance to go for a helicopter ride with a friend of Brock's father.... needless to say, it was one of the most amazing and awesome experiences I've ever had! Brennan was especially excited seeing how he's very interested in flying, and after we had mentioned this to the pilot he voluntarily took us for a few more minutes to show us a couple of extra technical moves along with some incredible low flying skills they often use during a search and rescue!

Afterwards as I had time to reflect on the ride I couldn't help but compare it to the experiences of life. We often have highs and lows which make us hold our breaths and wait until there over, but even when we're hung just a few feet in the air, swaying side to side maneuvering along the twisty river with mountains on both side to only then turn sideways and shoot straight up into the air, until we're horizontally on our back pausing for a moment, just before free falling back to earth, we must have faith. Faith in the pilot and his skills in controlling the helicopter.
The same applies with our Heavenly Father, if we place our faith or trust in his abilities, knowing he'll never let anything that we can't endure happen to us, it will only be a matter of time before the smooth flying of life returns.

I can't express my gratitude fully for the blessing and comfort this knowledge brings to me daily. I am grateful to never truly be alone, especial during the highs and lows of life!
